Eine junge Frau erzählt eine Geschichte. Ihre und die ihres Vaters. Oder eher ihre Geschichte und welche Rolle der Vater darin spielt. Oder, warum er eher keine Rolle mehr darin spielt. Und was das bedeutet. Woher es kommt. Was fehlt. Wo die Lücken sind, die weißen Flecken in einer Landschaft, die Biografie oder Algerien oder Frankreich heißt. Wie viele Versuchsanordnungen muss man durchlaufen, welche Szenarien entwerfen, um den Weg zurück zu den eigenen Wurzeln zu gehen, um wieder einen Kontakt herzustellen, einen Ausgangspunkt zu finden, für Wiedergutmachung, Widerstandskraft oder Heilung?

In ihrem Solo teilt sich Yasmine Yahiatène die Bühne mit einer Video-Leinwand und ihrem Zeichenstift. Sie ist Autorin, Suchende und Protagonistin in einer Geschichte, die eine Reise zu ihren algerischen und kabylischen Wurzeln, zum Alkoholismus ihres Vaters und zu den möglichen Gemeinsamkeiten zwischen beidem beschreibt. Ihr künstlerischer Prozess lässt auf der Bühne ein poetisches Feld entstehen, in dem die Entschlüsselung einer intimen und komplexen Beziehung möglich wird, aber auch die Frage nach ihrer Bedingtheit in der Geschichte Algeriens als Kolonie Frankreichs.

A young woman tells a story. Hers and her father’s. Or rather her story and the role her father plays in it. Or, why he doesn’t play much of a role in it anymore. And what that means. Where it comes from. What’s missing. Where the gaps are, the blank patches in a landscape, which are called biography or Algeria or France. How many experiments do you have to do, which scenarios do you have to invent to find the path back to your own roots, to re-establish contact, locate a starting point, make amends, for resilience or healing?

In her solo piece, Yasmine Yahiatène shares the stage with a video screen and her drawing pencil. She’s the writer, searcher and protagonist in a story that describes a journey to her Algerian and Kabylian roots, to her father’s alcoholism and to the things they might have in common. Her artistic process creates a poetic field on the stage, where it becomes possible to decode an intimate and complex relationship, but also to ask how it was affected by the history of Algeria as a colony of France.

Yasmine Yahiatène, *1990, studierte Kunst an der Kunsthochschule in Tournai, Belgien, wo sie sich auf Videokunst und Performance spezialisierte. Sie realisierte Kurzfilme und preisgekrönte Videomapping-Projekte, damit ist das Projizieren von bewegten Bildern auf Flächen im öffentlichen Raum gemeint. la fracture ist ihre erste Theaterarbeit.
Yasmine Yahiatène, *1990, studied art at the School of Arts in Tournai, Belgium, where she specialised in video art and performance. She has produced short films and award-winning video-mapping projects, which involve the projection of moving images onto surfaces in public space. la fracture is her first piece of work for theatre.
