Was bedeutet es, jemanden gehen zu lassen? Einen Abschied zu akzeptieren? Ihn zu zelebrieren? Ist es wahr, dass der Tod in modernen Gesellschaften keinen „Platz“ mehr hat? Brauchen wir mehr Raum für den Tod? Oder eher für das Leben, für die Gefühle im Umgang mit dem Verlust? Für die Wehklage?
In GOODBYE, LINDITA entwirft Mario Banushi im Theater einen Kosmos, eine Welt, die aus dem Alltag kommt und tief ins Unbekannte und Intuitive führt, ins Rätselhafte und Emotionale, in ein eigenes poetisches Reich, in dem die, die sich trennen müssen, noch eine Weile Zeit miteinander verbringen.
In einem Stück ohne Worte sind es die Bilder, das Licht, die Musik, die Spieler*innen auf der Bühne, die einen Raum, eine Erzählung für das Unaussprechbare erschaffen, eine Dramaturgie des Unbeschreiblichen und des Nicht-Sichtbaren. Banushi arbeitet mit dem eigenen erlebten Verlust, mit seinen albanischen Wurzeln als der Kultur, die ihn geprägt hat, neben der griechischen, in der er aufgewachsen ist.

What does it mean to let someone go? To accept that someone is gone? To celebrate it? Is it true that death no longer has a “place” in modern societies? Do we need more space for death? Or rather for life, for what we feel when dealing with loss? More space to grieve?
In GOODBYE, LINDITA, Mario Banushi creates a cosmos in the theatre, a world that comes from our everyday lives and yet leads us deep into the unknown and the intuitive, into the mysterious and emotional, into its own poetic realm, in which those who must part get to spend a little more time together.
In a play without words, it’s the images, the lighting, the music, the performers on stage that create a space, a story for what cannot be expressed in words, a dramaturgy of the ineffable and the invisible. Banushi works with his own experience of loss, with his Albanian roots, the culture that shaped him, as well as the culture of Greece, the place he grew up.

Mario Banushi, *1998, studierte Schauspiel am Konservatorium Athen; er arbeitet als Performer, Regisseur und Autor für Film und Theater. 2022 inszenierte er mit RAGADA den ersten Teil einer Trilogie, deren zweiter, GOODBYE, LINDITA, im März 2023 am Griechischen Nationaltheater Athen Premiere hatte und mit TAVERNA MIRESIA: MARIO, BELLA, ANASTASIA im Rahmen des Epidaurus Festivals Athen im Juli 2023 ihren Abschluss fand.
Mario Banushi, b. 1998, studied Acting at the Athens Conservatory; he works as a performer, director and writer for film and theatre. In 2022, he staged RAGADA, the first part of a trilogy, the second part of which, GOODBYE, LINDITA, premiered at the Greek National Theatre in Athens in March 2023 and concluded with TAVERNA MIRESIA: MARIO, BELLA, ANASTASIA during the Epidaurus Festival in Athens in July 2023.
