Mit einer Jury ist eine Gruppe von Menschen dazu eingeladen, öffentlich zu beschreiben, was sie gesehen haben. Natürlich gibt es immer unterschiedliche Perspektiven auf eine Inszenierung, und darum ist es spannend, verschiedene Perspektiven kennen zu lernen. Zum ersten Mal gibt es in diesem Jahr eine Jugendjury bei Fast Forward. Fünf Jugendliche und ein Mentor werden gemeinsam das Festival besuchen und am letzten Festivalabend, ebenso wie die internationale Fachjury, mit dem Festivalpreis und die Zuschauer*innen mit dem Publikumspreis ihre Wahl treffen. Wir freuen uns schon auf eine vielstimmige Preisverleihung!
A jury is a group of people who have been invited to publicly describe what they’ve seen. Of course there are always different perspectives on a production and that’s why it’s so interesting to hear about these different perspectives. For the first time, this year there will be a young jury at Fast Forward. Five young people and one mentor will visit the festival together and make their decision on the last night of the festival, just like the international jury of experts will with the Festival Award and the audience will with the Audience Award. We’re already looking forward to an awards ceremony with lots of different voices!
Die europäische Festivaljury 2022 besteht aus einer Festivalkuratorin, einem Regisseur, einer Theaterkritikerin und dem Intendanten des Staatsschauspiels Dresden. Am letzten Abend zeichnet die Jury eine der acht Festival-Inszenierungen aus. Der*die Ausgezeichnete*n erhält bzw. erhalten die Einladung, eine neue Arbeit am Staatsschauspiel Dresden zu realisieren. Vor ihrer letzten Beratung trifft die Jury außerdem Vertreter*innen des Schauspielensembles zum Austausch über die gesehenen Produktionen.
The 2022 festival jury includes a curator, a director, a theatre critic and the artistic director of the Staatsschauspiel Dresden. On the last night, it will award a prize to one of the eight festival shows. The prize is an invitation to the winner to produce a new piece of work at the Staatsschauspiel Dresden. Before their last consultation, the jury will meet representatives of the acting ensemble to discuss the productions they have seen.
Anke Dürr *1969, studierte Soziologie, Politik-, Kommunikations- und Theaterwissenschaften in München und Bologna, Italien. Sie wurde an der Deutschen Journalistenschule ausgebildet. Ab 1995 arbeitet sie fest beim Spiegel, lange Jahre als Theaterredakteurin des KulturSPIEGEL; inzwischen ist sie Leiterin des Ressorts Deutschland / Panorama. Als Jurorin war sie u. a. für das Berliner Theatertreffen und den Boy-Gobert-Preis tätig.
Anke Dürr *1969 studied sociology, political science, communications and theatre studies in Munich and Bologna, Italy. She was trained at the Deutsche Journalistenschule. From 1995, she was employed at the Spiegel, for many years she was theatre editor of the KulturSPIEGEL; she is now head of the Germany / Panorama department. She has been a juror for festivals including the Berliner Theatertreffen and the Boy Gobert Prize.
Lara Staal *1984, studierte in den Niederlanden Theaterpädagogik, Theaterwissenschaft und Dramaturgie und war Kuratorin am Amsterdamer Produktionshaus Frascati, ehe sie ihre Arbeit freiberuflich fortsetzte. Als Kuratorin, Theatermacherin, Autorin und Forschende beschäftigt sie sich mit gesellschaftspolitischen Themen, zu denen sie Formate politischer Aktion und Reflexion für den Theaterraum entwickelt, u. a. in Zusammenarbeit mit dem NTGent und den Kammerspielen München.
Lara Staal *1984 studied theatre pedagogy, theatre studies and dramaturgy in the Netherlands and was curator at the producing theatre Frascati in Amsterdam, before she continued her work freelance. As a curator, theatre maker, writer and researcher, she explores socio-political topics for which she develops formats of political action and reflection for theatre, including in collaboration with the NTGent and the Kammerspiele München.
Data Tavadze *1989 in Georgien, ist Regisseur und Autor und leitet seit 2008 das unabhängige Royal District Theatre in Tiflis. Er ist Mitbegründer mehrerer Festivals, besonders für zeitgenössische Dramatik. Seine Stückentwicklungen gastierten international, besonders die Antikenbearbeitung WOMEN OF TROY, mit der er 2016 den Preis der Fast Forward Jury gewann. Seitdem inszenierte er u. a. am Deutschen Theater Berlin, Maxim Gorki Theater, Schauspiel Frankfurt. In Dresden inszenierte er TRANSIT und KABALE UND LIEBE.
Data Tavadze *1989 in Georgia, is a director and author and since 2008 has been managing the independent Royal District Theatre in Tbilisi. He is the co-founder of several festivals, especially for contemporary drama. The performances he has developed toured internationally, especially his adaption of ancient Greek drama, WOMEN OF TROY, which won him the Fast Forward jury prize in 2016. Since then he worked a. o. at Deutsches Theater Berlin, Maxim Gorki Theater, Schauspiel Frankfurt. In Dresden, he has staged TRANSIT and KABALE UND LIEBE.
Joachim Klement *1961 in Düsseldorf, Dramaturg u. a. am Theater Graz, Deutschen Schauspielhaus Hamburg, Nationaltheater Mannheim (leitend), Chefdramaturg und stellvertretender Generalintendant am Bremer Theater, in gleicher Funktion am Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, Generalintendant am Staatstheater Braunschweig, seit 2017 Intendant des Staatsschauspiels Dresden.

Ein Festival für junge Regie sollte auch eine junge Jury haben. Der Blick der jungen Generation ist vermutlich ein ganz eigener. Gleichzeitig geht es in der Kunst, im Theater, beim Spiel, beim Geschichtenerzählen, auf und vor der Bühne auch immer um den Resonanzkörper, der wir als Zuschauende sind. Es geht um das Echo, das eine Inszenierung in uns auslöst, sei es Identifizierung oder Distanzierung, Sympathie oder Ablehnung, die Erfahrung eines neuen Gefühls oder die intensive Begegnung mit einem Gedanken. Publikum zu sein, ist manchmal Arbeit, das wissen die Fachleute ganz gut. Und wir freuen uns daher, in diesem Jahr zum allerersten Mal fünf junge Menschen in der Jugendjury begrüßen zu dürfen, die mit professioneller Unterstützung die acht Inszenierungen des Festivals sichten und parallel zur Fast-Forward-Jury einen eigenen Preis verleihen werden. Sie treffen Künstler*innen, diskutieren, laudatieren, applaudieren und genießen das volle Festival-Programm. Am Tag der Preisverleihung wird die Jugendjury ihre Auswahl bekannt geben und begründen, und dann wird er erstmalig verleihen: der Fast Forward Jugendjury-Preis!

A festival for young directors should have a young jury too. The young generation’s view is no doubt a very unique one. At the same time, art, theatre, performance and storytelling, on and in front of the stage, is always about the resonating body that we are as the audience. It’s about the echo that a production triggers in us, whether that’s identification, distancing, sympathy or rejection, the experience of a new feeling or an intense encounter with a thought. Being the audience is sometimes work, theatre professionals know this very well. That’s why we’re happy to welcome five young people to the young jury for the very first time, who will watch the eight festival productions with professional support and also award a prize just like the Fast Forward festival jury. They’ll meet the artists, have discussions, give praise, applaud and enjoy the whole festival programme. The day of the award ceremony, the young jury will announce and explain their choice, and then the Fast Forward Young Jury Prize will be awarded for the first time!
