Die ETC ist das größte Netzwerk öffentlicher Theater in Europa, mit fast 50 Theatern aus 25 europäischen Ländern, darunter das Staatsschauspiel Dresden. Die ETC fördert das europäische Theater als öffentlichen Raum für eine offene Gesellschaft.
Die ETC ist seit 2011 Partner von Fast Forward. Als Teil des Preises wird der*die Gewinner*in des diesjährigen Fast Forward Festivals auch zur nächsten Internationalen Theaterkonferenz des europäischen Theaternetzwerks ETC im Mai 2022 in Prag/Tschechische Republik eingeladen. Er*sie erhält damit weitere Gelegenheiten, seine*ihre Arbeit vor führenden europäischen Theatern zu präsentieren.
Die ETC bietet auch zahlreiche Möglichkeiten für junge Theaterkünstler*innen. Während dieser Fast Forward-Ausgabe werden die ETC Alumni – mehr als 100 Theatermacher*innen aus ganz Europa – zum ersten Mal das Online-Programm des Festivals verfolgen und sich untereinander und mit der Festivalkuratorin Charlotte Orti von Havranek über die Herausforderungen und Möglichkeiten für junge Theatermacher*innen in Europa in einer Welt nach der Pandemie austauschen.
